G is a 24 hour digital bureau: In a scathing attack on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his government practices true secularism by ensuring that the benefits of central schemes reach the common man. Responding to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘True secularism is ensuring that the benefits of various government schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries’.
Prime Minister Modi said the BJP-led Center government’s priority was the people and not political gains like the previous UPA regime. “This is why we have given LPG connection to 25 crore households in the country,” he claimed.
The Prime Minister said, ‘They (Congress) say poverty alleviation but have done nothing for more than four decades. Although we work hard to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the country’.
Even as the House erupted in chants of ‘Modi-Adani Bhai Bhai’, PM Modi said that the more mud a lotus splashes, the better it blooms.
He also attacked Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. The Congress president launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister and his government over the Adani row during his speech in the Upper House on Thursday.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said, ‘Kharge complained that I went to Kalaburagi. He should see what work is done there. 1.70 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts have been opened in Karnataka. Out of which there are more than 8 lakh accounts in Kalaburgi. So many people are getting power. Again someone’s account is getting closed, I understand the pain’.
A day after his speech in the Lok Sabha, Modi directly attacked the Congress in his Rajya Sabha speech. He said this while giving thanks for the President’s speech.
