G 24 Hours Digital: BJP is desperate to return to power. CPM-Congress has also come down to recover its old land. Polling in 60 seats of Tripura Assembly has started under tight security. In the fray is the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). Tipra Motha is in the fight. Since polling started at 7 am, there has been no report of any disturbance so far.

BJP is now fighting in alliance with IPFT. BJP has fielded candidates in 55 out of 60 seats in the state. IPFT has given the remaining 5 seats. The Left-Congress alliance has come together to push the BJP. Left Front is contesting in 47 seats. On the other hand, Congress is fighting in 13 seats. This time Trinamool Congress has given candidates for 22 seats. But Tipra Motha is fighting this time depending on tribal votes. They are expected to be a factor in the polls this time.
