On the first Somvati Amavasya of the year, the importance of this day multiplies as Shiva Yoga is formed on this day, where all wishes are fulfilled by worshiping Lord Shiva.
According to the Hindu calendar, the last day of Krishna Paksha in each month is Amavasya, this year the new moon of Phalgun month is February 20. Amavasya is considered with special importance in Hinduism. This time the Amavasya is Monday so it will be called Somvati Amavasya. According to belief, bathing, donation, fasting and tarpana are of special importance on the day of Somvati new moon. Remedy for Somvati new moon
To please the ancestors: On the day of Somvati Amavasya, take water in the name of patriarch and put sesame seeds in it and offer tarpan facing south. By doing this, the blessings of the ancestors are obtained.
