G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: Congress WANAD MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He accused the Prime Minister of insulting him. He alleged that his words were not taken off the record during the parliamentary proceedings. Rahul Gandhi’s comments came a day after the Lok Sabha Secretariat sought a reply from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on a breach of privilege notice issued against him by the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi claimed that parts of his speech were deleted even though he did not insult anyone. He said, ‘Parts of my speech in Parliament have been removed. I did not insult anyone. I have been asked to show proof of what I have said and I have written a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha stating that parts of my statement and supporting evidence have been deleted’.

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘I do not expect my words to go on record. The Prime Minister of the country directly insulted me but his words are not removed from the record. He said why your name is Gandhi and not Nehru’.

Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had issued a privilege notice against Rahul for ‘misleading, derogatory, unparliamentary and criminal remarks’ during the discussion of the motion of thanks to the President’s address.

Rahul Gandhi also said that ‘Prime Minister Modi thinks he is strong but he doesn’t understand that the last thing I fear is Narendra Modi. It doesn’t matter if he is the Prime Minister of India. Because one day he will be forced to face the truth’.
