Modi’s China Policy Is Actually DDLJ Jayaram Ramesh’s Criticism: Modi’s policy on the China issue is DDLJ, said Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh. In the words of the hand camp, DDLJ means “Deny, Distract, Lie, Justify”. So it is Modi’s job to deny, confuse, lie and justify the Congress statement. Jayaram made this fancy target after a comment by Rajnath Singh.

On the Chinese issue, this time Congress has set its sights on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a fancy way. In 1995, King Shah Rukh Khan’s famous film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ) was released in the wake of criticism. The hand camp fired at Modi and said DDLJ means “Deny, Distract, Lie, Justify”. So it is Modi’s job to deny, confuse, lie and justify the Congress statement. The incident began about two weeks ago with a remark by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Speaking at an event organized by a media group, the defense minister warned China that India would not give up an inch of its land to Beijing. The Defense Minister hoped that the remaining issues of the two countries, including Ladakh, would be resolved through talks. Rajnath did not stop there. “I do not want to go into what happened during the Sino-Indian war in 1962,” he said. But India suffered a blow in that war when the Congress was in power. The Defense Minister said that the Modi government would not compromise the pride and reputation of the country at any cost.
Modi’s China Policy Is Actually DDLJ
After Rajnath’s remarks, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh targeted the Modi government on the China issue. In a tweet, he said the prime minister was pursuing a “DDLJ” policy with Beijing. Here Ramesh gives the analogy of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ to say ‘DDLJ’. In a tweet in Hindi, he said that the Prime Minister did not acknowledge that Deny i.e. China was occupying our land in ‘D’. ‘D’ means – Distract – The report of the Ministry of Defense on Chinese intrusion has been removed. ‘L’ or Lie means lie- no one has crossed our borders, which is the biggest lie. ‘J’ means Justify promoting business instead of revenge.
This is not the first time that Jairam Ramesh has complained about Modi’s China policy. Earlier, multiple leaders of the BJP opposition camp, including Rahul Gandhi, spoke out against Chinese aggression on the border. There is evidence from satellite imagery that the Chinese are occupying Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh.
But every time the Modi government thwarted the demands of the opposition. Meanwhile, tensions erupted in Ladakh a few days ago over an incident along the Line of Control. In the last week of June, a Chinese plane was seen flying over the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. According to news sources, the incident took place around 4 in the morning. The news agency also said that the pilot of the plane was caught on Indian radar.
