However, the concerned political circles think that the most significant of these changes is the change of the governor of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari recently courted controversy by commenting on Shivaji. Last month, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed his desire to resign from the post of governor. On this day, President Draupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

President Draupadi Murmu appointed Ramesh Bose as the new Governor of Maharashtra. Ramesh was the Governor of Jharkhand for so long. He is being brought from Jharkhand to Maratha-Maati.

But why did Bhagat Singh move to Koshiari?

In November last year at a university convocation in Aurangabad, Koshiyari had said while giving the example of an eminent Maratha person — there is no dearth of idols in Maharashtra. In ancient times there was Chhatrapati Shivaji. Later Bhimrao Ambedkar. And now Nitin Gadkari.

After Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s comment, the opposition Shiv Sena demanded the governor’s resignation for hurting Maratha sentiments. Surprisingly, the Shiv Sena group led by BJP’s associate chief minister Eknath Shinde also made the same claim!
