G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Sikkim on Monday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck northwest of Yuksom in Sikkim at 4.15 am. The tremors occurred a day after a magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit Assam’s Nagaon on Sunday afternoon.
NCS said in a tweet, ‘Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake, Time 13-02-2023, 04:15:04 IST, Latitude: 27.81 and Longitude 87.71, Depth: 10 km, Location: Yuksom, Sikkim, India. 70 km north west of’.

Earlier on Sunday, an earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit the central region of Assam. This was stated in an official bulletin. There were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property, it said.
The earthquake was recorded at 4.18 a.m., and its epicenter was in Nagaon district on the south bank of the Brahmaputra river, the National Center for Seismology said in a report.

It also said that the depth of the earthquake was 10 km.
The epicenter was 160 km east of Guwahati, near Hojai in central Assam.
Apart from Sonitpur on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river, people in neighboring West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Golaghat and Morigaon districts also felt the tremors.
