PM Modi’s special meeting in Hiroshima, who was with him?

Hiroshima : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Hiroshima, Japan for the first time after the war with Russia. The two met at the G-7 summit in Japan. News agency ANI reported that the two heads of state were sitting on the sidelines of the international conference.

The Prime Minister’s office tweeted the news. And in the picture posted on that tweet, it was seen that besides the heads of state of the two countries, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval along with senior officials of India and Ukraine were also present in that meeting.

The Prime Minister held a brief discussion with US President Joe Biden in the first phase of the G-7 conference on Saturday. Modi also held bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. In addition, the Prime Minister held talks with the heads of state of South Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam. However, the international community considers Modi’s meeting with Zelensky very significant.

After the outbreak of war with Russia, Modi-Zelensky did not meet face-to-face but spoke via video conference. It may be noted that last month Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Emil Zaparova visited India. It was the first post-war visit to India by a minister from that country. During that visit, Emil had a meeting with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
