Sunil Jaglan said, after Modi launched the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign, he felt inspired by the initiative. Want to do something that can complement the efforts of the government. And from that, the ‘Selfie with daughter’ initiative was born. Sunil Jaglan said that the campaign he started from a small village in Haryana about 8 years ago to raise awareness against female foeticide has gradually seen success.
Sunil Jaglan, former sarpanch of Bibipur village in Jinder. He started campaigning from the village in June 2015. His initiative also won praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi had earlier mentioned this selfie with daughter in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speech. Sunil Jaglan urged everyone to take pictures with their daughters and post them on social media to raise awareness against female foeticide.
Later he also created a website for this. Where everyone can share selfies with their girls. Sunil Jaglar said, Jinde is his birthplace. But the sex ratio in this district of Haryana was alarmingly low. But now the matter is reversed. Incidentally, Sunil Jaglan himself is the father of two daughters.
