Experts of the World Health Organization fear that the impact of ‘Disease X’ may lead to another international epidemic like Corona. Previously, the WHO website had names for viruses such as Covid-19, Ebola, Marburg, Sars Nipah and Zika. This time ‘Disease X’ has taken place in that list.
A few days ago, the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned the world about ‘Disease X’. He spoke of preparing for another pandemic. Ghebreyesus expressed fear that ‘Disease X’ could be more contagious than Corona. He said that it can spread not only between humans, but also from humans to animals or from animals to humans. According to the head of the WHO, the germs of ‘Disease X’ can spread from animal to animal.
The WHO chief also said that ‘Disease X’ has no specific symptoms. And it is not possible to develop a specific treatment or antidote in advance for not having it. He expressed fear that an epidemic situation may be created for this. And in that case, he also indicated that he may have to follow the path of lockdown like Covid.
Pranab Chattopadhyay, a researcher at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, has expressed concern about ‘Disease X’. He has warned that this virus may show its dominance by the end of this year. Incidentally, in the fourth wave of Corona last year, there was a panic in Britain about an unknown disease.
It is the first such disease to be reported in Britain’s history in 40 years. Experts said that if this unknown disease is not controlled, it is dangerous. It was feared that it could spread to other parts of the world. However, it is not known whether it is the effect of ‘Disease X’. For now, experts have emphasized to increase surveillance on ‘Disease X’. Besides, they want to start forming additional funds to deal with it now.
